We will have the following varieties of tomatoes, peppers and herbs available this year at our farm stand:
Tomatoes
Cherry. Indeterminate, approx 65 days to harvest. Small 1oz fruits resistant to cracking
Better Boy, Indeterminate, approx 75 days to harvest. Large eating and slicing tomato. Tomatoes can reach up to a pound each. Resistant to disease and blight.
San Marzano, Indeterminate, approx 90 days to harvest. Pear shaped medium sized fruit. Known as an italin paste or sauce tomato but also great for eating.
Beefsteak, Indeterminate heirloom, approx 80 days to harvet. One of the largest heirloom varieties, fruits can be up to 2lbs each. Great for slicing and eating. Somewhat prone to disease and blight.
Early Girl, Indeterminate, approx 60 days to harvest. One of the easiest varieties to grow. Medium round fruit, extremly resistent to disease and blight. Great for many uses,!
Peppers
Bell, 75 days to maturity, large mild pepper great for a variety of uses
Carmen, 80 days to maturity, large Italian sweet pepper perfect for roasting, frying, and grilling.
Poblano, 85 days to maturity, large medium pepper. THE pepper for chili rellenos, also gerat for stuffing, grilling, and other southwestern dishes!
Jalapeño, 70 days to maturity, medium spicy peppers used in a variety of dishes. Harvestable when green but will turn red if left on plant.
Herbs
Thai Basil- Sweet than standard basil, is used as seasoning and a garnsh in many popular dishes
